Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Astronomy collects, uses, stores, shares, exports, and deletes personal information. Astronomy is a personal productivity app that turns goals into task constellations and helps you track progress.
Astronomy is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us at support@myastronomy.app for privacy requests, account questions, billing questions, export requests, and deletion questions.
Information We Collect
- Account identifiers. Account id, email, authentication provider, profile details from sign-in providers when provided, and account creation timestamp.
- Goal and project content. Goal text, generated constellation titles, summaries, task text, active constellations, archived constellations, and related planning details stored as application data.
- Progress data. Completed task ids, recent completion references, selected constellation ids, archive/restore/delete state, and sync timestamps.
- Billing metadata. Stripe customer id, subscription id, latest subscription status, and entitlement status. Astronomy does not store card numbers, CVCs, bank account numbers, or full payment credentials.
- Technical and log data. Service request identifiers, response status, operational logs, authentication failures, billing failures, sync failures, planner errors, and Vercel Web Analytics page-view telemetry such as visited origins, paths, session ids, and device ids.
- Support and privacy communications. Messages you send to us about support, billing, privacy, exports, deletion, or account issues.
Why We Use Information
- To create, display, save, archive, delete, and sync your constellations.
- To authenticate your account and keep account data associated with the correct user.
- To confirm paid entitlement and provide billing management through Stripe.
- To generate constellation plans through our planner service.
- To provide account deletion and self-serve data export.
- To secure, debug, monitor, understand usage, and improve reliability of the service.
- To respond to support, privacy, billing, and account requests.
- To comply with legal, tax, payment, security, and fraud-prevention obligations.
Where Information Is Stored And Processed
Browser storage keeps unauthenticated application data and account cache on your device. Supabase stores authentication information and account-related application records. Vercel hosts the app and backend services. Stripe processes payment and subscription information. OpenAI processes planner requests sent through Astronomy backend services.
Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where these providers operate. By using Astronomy, you understand that information may be transferred to and processed by these providers as needed to provide the service.
Processors And Third Parties
We use service providers to operate Astronomy: Supabase for authentication and database hosting, Vercel for hosting, server services, and web analytics, Stripe for checkout, subscriptions, customer portal, and payment processing, and OpenAI for planner generation. We use these providers to provide the service and not to sell your personal information.
Astronomy does not sell personal information. Astronomy does not use your personal information for targeted advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising in the current version of the service.
User Content Access
Your project and constellation text is used to provide planning, persistence, sync, export, deletion, and support. We do not review user content routinely. We may access user content when needed to provide support, investigate abuse, debug service issues, comply with law, or protect the service and users.
Data Export And Deletion
Account holders can export account data from the account menu. The export includes account identifiers, full stored application data, active and archived constellations, completion state, billing entitlement metadata, and export metadata. This export includes stored account data even when your current subscription limits what the app UI shows.
Account holders can delete their account from the account menu. Account deletion removes account-related application data and billing account records, clears account data stored on this device, and removes the association between your account and the Stripe customer path when present. Stripe and other providers may retain records as required for payment, tax, fraud-prevention, dispute, backup, security, and legal obligations.
US State Privacy Notice
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, and information about how your data is used. You may also have opt-out rights related to sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. Astronomy does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. To make a request, contact support@myastronomy.app.
We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. If we deny a privacy request where an appeal right applies, you can appeal by replying to our decision at the same contact address.
California Notice At Collection
We collect identifiers, customer records, commercial information, internet or electronic activity information, user-generated project content, support communications, and inferences needed to provide productivity recommendations. We collect these categories from you, your device, sign-in providers, Stripe, and service operations. We use them for the purposes described above. We do not sell or share these categories for cross-context behavioral advertising in the current version of the service.
Mexico Privacy Notice
Astronomy is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. We collect the data categories listed above to provide the app, authenticate accounts, process subscriptions, sync app state, provide support, handle deletion/export requests, secure the service, and comply with legal obligations. We transfer data to processors such as Supabase, Vercel, Stripe, and OpenAI as needed to provide those services.
You may contact support@myastronomy.app to exercise applicable access, rectification, cancellation, opposition, deletion, export, or related privacy rights. We retain data according to the retention criteria below and provider/legal requirements.
Retention
We retain account data while your account exists and as needed to provide the service. We delete or de-identify account data when you delete your account, except where retention is needed for security, legal, tax, payment, fraud-prevention, dispute, backup, or operational obligations. Backup retention and restore procedures may temporarily retain deleted data according to provider and operational retention limits.
Security
We use account-scoped authentication, protected backend services, request validation, database permission controls, protected secret handling, and account-scoped browser storage. No system is perfectly secure, and you should protect your account and email access.
Children
Astronomy is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact support@myastronomy.app.
Sensitive Information
Do not store sensitive medical, financial, legal, government ID, payment-card, bank, or other high-risk regulated information in goal, project, constellation, or task text.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as Astronomy changes. The updated effective date will show when the policy changes.
